A short video is available on the highly successful three-year pilot phase of the Informal Economy Support Programme (IESP) in eThekwini – click here for the short video. PPT has also completed its final evaluation of the pilot phase which includes key achievements and lessons – click here. All key targets for the pilot phase were exceeded and a strong platform for the next phase has been layed (including 217 new permanent jobs created, 586 new jobs in the pipeline and 180 people trained). Subject to co-funding from eThekwini and the Dept. Small Business, an application to the Jobs Fund for the next phase will be submitted on 16th March 2017. PPT expresses its appreciation to the Jobs Fund and eThekwini Municipality for their funding and support of the pilot phase as well as to the many committed entrepreneurs and PPT project team.
